Financial Folios

What is a Folio?  A structured portfolio of securities designed to meet a specific objective. A Folio may consist of stocks, bonds, ETF's and mutual funds.

What is a Financial Folio?  Financial Folios are portfolios that we designed specifically to meet the unique investment needs of our clients. Currently, we offer a series of 10 different Core Folios. Each of our Core Folios consists of a basket of 10-15 institutional index-based mutual funds from Dimensional Fund Advisors (DFA).  We also plan on introducing a Dividend Yielding Folio, a Laddered Bond Folio, and an ETF Folio in the near future.  Each Core Folio utilizes a strategic asset allocation model that finds the optimum portfolio return while minimizing risk.

How do Financial Folios work?  When a client first comes to us, we discuss his or hers investment objectives, financial needs, and risk tolerance. From this information, we can ascertain which Folio best fits their financial situation. Then, we purchase the funds in the Folio according to its allocation mix if the client chooses one of our pre made Folios.  If a client customizes his or her Folio, then we purchase the securities the client chooses. We balance the Folios every year at the end of the calendar year to keep the Folios consistent with their objectives.  Since trades are only placed once a year, the amount a client pays in transactions costs goes down dramatically, which makes Folios very cost effective. Any time a security enters or leaves a Folio, we disclose the adjustments to our clients at the start of every year. The clients can also view the holdings of our Folios in the "Folios" section in our website.
